What data jewei.net processes, why it is processed, and how to ask a privacy question.

This privacy notice covers jewei.net, a personal website operated by Jewei Mak. The site publishes articles, a résumé, and public profile information. It has no user accounts, checkout, comments, advertising network, or contact form. You can read the public pages without giving me your name or email address.

Hosting and request logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. When you request a page, Cloudflare processes technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site. This can include your IP address, request time, requested URL, browser information, and security signals. Cloudflare may retain data under its own policies. Audience measurement

I use Umami Cloud to understand aggregate site traffic, such as which pages are visited, referring sites, approximate device and browser types, and country-level location. The analytics script is loaded from cloud.umami.is. Umami is designed to work without cookies and states that it does not collect personal information for website analytics. I use these reports to see whether articles are being found and whether pages work across common devices. See Umami’s privacy policy (opens in new tab) for information about the hosted service.

If you email [email protected], I receive the address you use and anything you put in the message. I use it to read and answer your enquiry. Please do not email secrets or sensitive personal records. I retain correspondence only as long as it remains useful for the conversation, record keeping, or resolving abuse.

Pages may link to GitHub, X, GitHub Sponsors, and other websites. Following a link sends a request to that service, which applies its own privacy policy. The résumé PDF is a static download from this domain.

For a privacy question, correction, or deletion request concerning information you sent directly to me, email [email protected] and identify the relevant message or page. I may update this notice when the site’s hosting, analytics, or features change. The date above records the latest revision.
